Member Archives
July-August 2026 Note:
Dear Members and Fellow Cousins:
Your elected board recently acted on the matter of lapsed, withdrawn, and deceased members' access to our family archive. We have directed those responsible to bring the list of paid membership access up-to-date.
If your log-in name and password are no longer working when an attempt to access the archive is made, it could be because of this review. If you believe your log-in credentials should have been sustained for access, kindly let us know by e-mailing one of us at the addresses shown below. We are working to be as accurate as possible, but it is possible that mistakes can be made, and we desire to correct any errors.
For verification or questions about your membership status, please contact Beth. Otherwise, contact Susan or Kimball, as we are reviewing and confirming or suspending access, based on the membership list provided us by Beth. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Sincerely,
Susan Thompson, Family Archive Database Administrator -
Kimball Cummings, Webmaster and On-Line Events Chairman -
Beth Rosenquist, Vice-President, Membership -
ICFA’s Private Member Archives are a remarkable resource and an easy way to research your Cummings ancestors. The full collection now contains more than 34,000 persons and hundreds of families with Cummings ancestry. It also contains a significant assemblage of Cummings family photos, military history research data, and bibliographic research documents.
Access to the Member Database below is for members only by username and password.
Access to the photos, military history and bibliography near the bottom of the page is currently accessible by anyone.
For access to the private archives, click on the ICFA "Member Database" button immediately below. A different-looking page appears. Under the "Welcome" greeting at text at the upper-left, there are three rather small links. The middle one is the "Log in" link. Click on that one and enter your username and password that you received when you joined.
If there is any trouble with that link, you may contact our Archivist, Susan Thompson, whose e-mail and surface address are shown in about the middle of this page.
Member Database
The information contained in the digital Database is based on original Isaac Cummings Family records researched and developed by member Mary Ann Comings, who over many years, used highly reliable books and sources for her extensive work.
It was expanded by numerous contributing members and overseen and improved by genealogist and longtime Database Chair, Sherry Milham.
Once an application for membership has been accepted and dues paid, members may register to use the private collections using the link above. An important benefit of ICFA membership is the opportunity for members to have their own lineage/family tree data entered into ICFA’s records.
Questions about using the Database and comments, with any corrections and additions about the information contained, should be sent to ICFA’s Archivist, Susan K. Thompson at the address below.
An Important Reminder: Use the ICFA Online Archives
Our unique archival collection features detailed family tree records from by members over the past quarter century. It currently contains more than 34,000 individuals, 12,000 families and 4,500 unique surnames. If you haven't visited the ICFA archives yet or recently, log on and look for your ancestors' genealogies and the information connected to them, including photos and headstone links. Members are also encouraged to forward their updated family lineages and stories as they are expanded and corrected.
Questions about using, correcting and adding to the ICFA Member Archives and Database (including Scrapbook photos) should be addressed to collection curator Susan K. Thompson at
We currently offer access to the Photo Scrapbook of Ancestors, Military History, and Bibliography below for anyone who is interested. No password is needed at this time.
